| Welcome to Charlie's! Carol "Charlie" Belding is an area native that worked her way up from serving at theHighlander to manager of the Ironman Inn to the owner of "Charlie's" the area'sbest bar and grill. She opened her first bar in the early 80's and is a Coralville and Iowa City landmark. Her first bar was the Treetop above the Days Inn on the Coralville strip. From the Treetop she opened the original "Charlie's" that stood on the corner of what is now First Avenue and Fifth Street. It was a 600 comfortable and cozy square feet with a roaring fire that everyone who came in enjoyed and became addicted to. In early 1994 an opportunity to make the big move into the strip mall became available and she moved into the "new" Charlie's. Continuing the trend for fun and great service she has grown with Coralville and now provides the best place for beer around. She started at this location in the fall of 1994 with just the main bar,after a year she expanded into what is now the pool room. She moved the bar to the center of the front bar area and opened the Martini and Cigar bar. Last summer was the grand opening of two new party patios. Charlie is ALWAYS reinventing a good time! She has built Coralville and Iowa City's best place for adults to hang out or party & has been voted the areas best bar with the coldest beer two years in a row! Her parties are infamous and include the annual Halloween party,New Year's Eve party, St. Patrick's Day party, the Annual Golf Outing and many more! If you miss a day here you miss a lot!
